Friendly and helpful staff. Central location. Quiet, comfortable room. And - (don't laugh, many hotels skimp here) - better quality toilet paper than the Hilton!
Breakfast choice somewhat limited, but adequate, given overall price level.
Great location with access to trains, in a quaint old village. Simple, yet sufficient rooms with nice staff, good breakfast and privacy.
The Wifi connection had to be renewed each day and often did not even last for 24 hours. This was inconvenient as well as a nuisance. When the owner was present he was quite loud in the main dining area making it hard to enjoy the company of self and other. He was less hospitable than his wife and the other main desk help. He might be best leaving that up to the women!
There was no elevator from street level to the first floor reception. However, as we were leaving, the staff, very kindly, allowed us to take the elevator down to the bar on the ground floor just as it was opening. We appreciated not having to lug heavy bags down those stairs. The location was fantastic, right on Grote Markt and breakfast on the first floor gave a view of the town going about its every day business as usual.
Not having stairs from ground level was a problem as my daughter who was travelling with me had a problem with her knee for the last few days of our trip.
The location of the Amadeus is perfect if shopping's your thing. It's central and very close to the train station too. My single room was tiny, with a dreadful shower, but otherwise ok. If I'd been staying any longer than one night, I'd probably have been pretty dissatisfied with the standard but for an overnight stay, I couldn't really complain. The staff were helpful in an offhand kind of way. You could tell they wouldn't particularly go out of their way to do something for you, but if you asked for something, you got a kind of answer. Internet connection was fast and login was very easy, something quite important to me. All in all, the best I can say, is the Amadeus was ok. I'd stay here again for a night or two, but no longer.
Didn't particularly dislike anything.
Excellent view of the Grote Markt from our room at the front of the hotel. Free internet access and Wi Fi a bonus. Traditional Dutch dining room overlooking the square. Good buffet breakfast.
Indifferent staff. So-called lounge was the breakfast room.
Well as a single female traveller I felt safe, and the atmosphere at breakfast was very relaxed and welcoming.
I wasn't aware of the fact that there wasn't a reception area which was open all the time, so once you were in your room at night you had to stay there.
The Food and position of the hotel
The hotel Amadeus is a quirky hotel in an excellent location in the centre. The breakfast is excellent and served in a beautiful room overlooking the main square. The restaurant below the Hotel is very good. the owners/staff are lovely. The bedrooms are clean with comfortable beds but a bit random.
Pleasant staff, wonderful quaint rooms, good facilities, overall very good experience.
The steps up to the lobby were difficult to manage with large luggage.
The hotel is centrally located. with many restaurants nearby. The breakfast was the usual cold spread but good. I was upgraded to a double, which was small , but adequate and very clean.
Clean bathrooms, Good Breakfast, L'Anders Resterant downstairs is excellent. They ley me use the lift from the resteraunt when we checked out. If you have heavy bags, ask.
Steep stairs, 'lift' not from ground floor for big bags.So don't bring big suitcases.
We were welcomed by name, the room was comfortable and the member of staff was very helpful the following morning when I had a problem booking in on-line at the airport.
- Location was good - close to Market Square and Bars/Restaurants. Only 10mins walk to Station - Staff were very friendly and helpful - Free WiFi - Good Breakfast selection - Good value for money
- Reception closed after 6pm so recommend early arrival
Very good self contained room and great veiw over the square.
The man on reception was to abrupt.when I asked where the exit was on the first morning I was there.
Location, beds very comfortable,cleanliness
Perhaps decor a bit Dated and no smoking area
